More than 40 years of tyre knowledge
From a small, local one-man business, to one of the largest tyre specialists in Europe. Heuver Banden Groothandel has a remarkable history. These are the most important events:
1966
Mans Heuver, father of the current directors, Bertus and Jan Heuver, starts a tyre business in Den Ham. Mans sees opportunities for selling tyres and providing extensive service. When necessary he takes the tyres himself to the customer on his Jawa motorbike. Over time he develops two main activities for the company: the wholesale trade of mainly EM tyres in Hardenberg and the wholesale trade of mainly agricultural tyres in Den Ham.
1994
In 1994, both activities are merged into one company in Den Ham. In the following years the sale of truck tyres increases dramatically. Expansion of the storage and office space becomes essential. The tyre trade is furthermore becoming an increasingly global trade. Heuver Banden imports tyres from all over the world; from Australia to China, from America to Russia and of course, Europe. As a result of the exclusive import and distribution of Aeolus truck tyres from China, as from 2001 the market share for truck tyres experiences an explosive growth.
2001
Heuver Banden opens a tyre wholesale trade centre in Romania with three branches, where 35 people are employed.
2006
Simultaneously with the 40th anniversary of the company in 2006, Heuver Banden opens a state-of-the-art distribution centre in Hardenberg. On a plot of 10.6 acres, Heuver Banden has a covered storage capacity of 12,000 m² and office space of 1,000 m². Eight loading and unloading docks guarantee a high processing speed. Of all the products that arrive on a weekly basis, on average more than 70 percent is delivered that same week. All this means that Heuver Banden is one of the top market players in Europe in the field of truck, earth moving and agricultural tyres.
2009
In 2009, Heuver Banden expands it storage capacity to 24,000 m². This optimises the stock position and processing speed. At this time, Heuver Banden employs 215 people and consists of two divisions: wholesale supplier Heuver Banden for business customers and 11 Profile Tyrecenter branches for the consumer.
