Heuver Tyrewholesale opened its web shop in 2008 and was one of the first companies in the sector to do so. Gradually, awareness grew within the tyre sector, particularly when a bonus shop was added in 2011. The further addition of a mobile website and accompanying web shop in 2012 helped to cater for new needs within the sector. By renewing its web shop, Heuver is now taking the next step in its e-commerce activities.
Bertus Heuver, director Heuver Tyrewholesale: “We want customers to quickly and easily find their way around the web shop if they decide to order online, irrespective of the segment and irrespective of how accustomed they are to web shops. In other words, the pages of our web shop must be easy to navigate and customers must be able to benefit from our technical know-how on this front. For example, the system will now place your order in a shopping basket, which allows you to continue your shopping experience even if you return a day later. As a tyre service company, this creates opportunities to still converse with your customers in the meantime. Thus achieving optimum convenience.”
Faster loading times
“The web shop has been developed step-by-step”, says Bertus Heuver. “When doing so, we listened carefully to our customers. And the latest developments are also based on this approach. Our new web shop – which we call web shop 3.0 – has been placed on the company's own large server. Further, by implementing caching and technical optimisation, pages load faster and prices and current stock levels are quicker to appear. This offers customers even greater convenience and speed. Finally, we have also improved accessibility. Customers can remain logged in for the whole day and can then place their orders in one go. To top things off, we have also improved the checkout process.”
