Aeolus solves tyre problem old fire engines

-PRESS RELEASE- In many cases, fire engines have a long life. They are not deployed very often, but they do have to be on standby at all times, and they both cover few kilometres and wear out few tyres. The vehicles have more standing time than deployment time. As the vehicles get older and older, the range of suitable tyres for those years of manufacture decreases relatively sharply. Aeolus has a current range of truck tyres that, all manufactured with modern technology and from the latest production, still provide for 'old' wheel sizes. Which can be an attractive solution for many a fire brigade or company fire brigade.

Up-to-date technology

The deployability of fire trucks, regardless of age, must be 100 per cent. Because many cars last for decades, fire brigades are involuntarily faced with wheel sizes for which few tyres still exist. "For example, in Germany a rule for fire trucks is that tyres have to be replaced every 10 years," says Bertus Heuver, director Heuver Tyre Wholesale. "Often the tyres they were delivered on are not yet worn out. But also that those tyres new no longer exist when they are needed. This is a problem that also exists in other countries. We noticed this and also saw that several Aeolus profiles are indeed produced in those 'old' sizes. With the great advantage that this production is now done with up-to-date technology. Corpses therefore get a top-reliable modern tyre, with today's specifications. Including DOT up-to-date production and snowflake (3PMFS) certification. That makes their deployability and safety even greater than ever with the original tyres."

Major progress

Bertus Heuver: "To help our customers advise their customers optimally, we made an overview of all suitable profiles. Including the most important specifications resulting from today's production methods. Such as widened tread (more stable driving behaviour and shorter braking distance) and more safety and optimal water drainage thanks to modern tread with M+S marking. As the tyres are manufactured using modern carcass technology, no problems arise when vehicles are stationary for longer periods of time as the tyres are very robust. Fire brigades with older vehicles benefit greatly with new tyres."
