Heuver Group receives silver Ecovadis medal for sustainability
Top 5% in the industry
The silver medal means that Heuver Group now officially ranks among the top 5 percent of companies in its sector and among the top 15 percent of all companies worldwide assessed by EcoVadis. Heuver Group is thus at the forefront of sustainable developments in the sale of parts and accessories for motor vehicles.
‘This silver medal is a wonderful recognition of the steps we have taken as an organisation,’ says Manfred Rudolf, Sustainability Coordinator at Heuver Group. ‘It shows that sustainability is more than just an ambition for us; it is embedded in our policy and our daily practice.’
Clear steps and measurable impact
Heuver Group undertook various initiatives last year:
Environment:
- Environment: Switching to fully green electricity, installation of solar panels, construction of the new hall and implementation of a sustainability plan with measurable goals.
- Labour and human rights: Focus on permanent contracts and the promotion of diversity and a safe, inclusive working environment.
- Fair business practices: Introduce a code of conduct for employees and suppliers, including a confidential reporting centre.
- Sustainable procurement: Strict selection criteria for suppliers, alongside checks and risk analyses.
“At Heuver Group, sustainability is not just empty words, but concrete action,” says Rudolf. “Step by step, we are building an organisation that is future-proof, both economically and socially.”
On the road to gold
Although the silver rating is an important milestone, Heuver Group sees it primarily as an intermediate step. The ambition goes further: the goal is continuous improvement in sustainable performance, with the gold EcoVadis medal as the next step.
“For us, sustainable entrepreneurship is not a project with an end date,” concludes Rudolf. “It is a permanent way of thinking and acting. We continue to look for ways to improve, be fairer and more sustainable.”
